So we are thrilled that you are giving your child the opportunity to play the piano, guitar, or simply enjoy music in general.

Our teachers take a different approach with kids than with adults, and we also acknowledge that every child has different interests, strengths, and weaknesses. We keep piano and guitar lessons active and engaging, teach the fundamentals with both activities and playing drills, and always make sure they have new pieces and skills to show off at home.

At this time, Kosha Music Academy operates in student homes and online. We would be happy to travel to your location in the Greater San Antonio area or set up an online trial lesson to see how it works for you.

We help families in and around San Antonio learn music. All you need to do is tell us your location, and we can let you know if it’s within our travel radius. We are certainly happy to travel to your home in Converse, TX, Schertz, Helotes, Von Ormy, and other surrounding suburban areas. If you are taking piano lessons, we do ask that you have a functioning piano keyboard, either digital or acoustic, at home.

We’ve had a tremendous amount of success helping people learn music via online platforms like Zoom, Skype, and more. These days, you don’t sacrifice quality whatsoever to learn online in a one-on-one setting. Some of our online music students live in regions without qualified music instructors available, but most of them have simply found that they love the comfort and flexibility of taking lessons in their own home with wifi, a laptop or phone, and a webcam. In your trial lesson, we will test your internet connection, adjust camera angles, and more to make sure your online lesson experience is excellent.

FAQ’s

The short answer is that it will vary between each child, but most often it's between the ages of 5 - 7 years old. However, as soon as they have the ability to sit and focus for around 25 minutes minutes and have a curiosity about music, they are ready to begin lessons.

Not at all! What older beginners lose in natural ability to learn, they gain in self-discipline. We've seen many older first time students do well when they practice regularly between lessons.

Yes. Because practice is such a crucial part of being successful in learning an instrument, it is important that the student have access to an instrument that they can regularly practice on.

Currently students can take lessons on either the piano or the guitar. Check back with us as we are looking to add more instruments to our teaching repertoire soon.

Lessons run weekly Mon-Fri and Saturday as chosen by each student, for 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Sign-up with our online registration form and we can set you up with your first lesson appointment.

Absolutely! We value all our clients and appreciate the great things they share about us. Everone who refers a new student to Kosha Music Academy will receive either a 1 time discount per referral or one of our gift certificate voucher offers to one of several local businesses once the referred student has enrolled and paid for their first month of lessons. Please inquire by phone or email for further details.

Not a problem. You can log-in to the student portal and cancel your lesson. We provide a make-up lesson as long as at least 24 hrs notice before the start time of your lesson was given.
